About
Jul 8th, 2008 by Dan Turner
Hello, my name is Dan Turner.
Artist. Graphic Designer. Business Coach. Musician.
This site is for those of us who hold art at the highest level of our existence. A brief bio:
- I’ve worked as a freelance graphic designer for over 30 years, designing identity systems, ad campaigns, internet marketing and websites for a variety of clients.
- Through my FreelanceWorkshops.com I coach other graphic designers on running successful firms and landing new business.
- I have played drums for over 40 years (I started young!) and am a founding member of The Fabulous Sizzle Kings, The Delta 88s, Manos de Fuego and Sunhouse. These were/are all Southern California bands. We’ve played venues throughout SoCal and opened for Koko Taylor, Pancho Sanchez, The Blasters, Robben Ford and Chris Cain. I’m drumming a little less these days, but still playing.
Which brings us to: IS IT ART YET?
Indeed it is! I started creating fine art in the late 1990s; paintings, assemblages, photography and digital abstracts. On this site I share the ebb and flow of creative energy with you, showcase my art and provide a window into the creative process. I strive to keep things light, entertaining and informative.
I live in Sedona, Arizona, a scenic global crossroads of artists, galleries, outdoor enthusiasts, spiritual retreats and four-star resorts.
Thank you for visiting. I encourage comments, so fire away! Also, sign up for my newsletter and I’ll keep you informed of new work, new developments and special buys.
